Tonmeister Recording Project - Prague

This project is based in Prague, Czech Republic, in which during the summer of 2022, Kevin had the opportunity to travel to Prague for the Tonmeister Program held by NYU. The program focused on producing classical, electro-acoustic, jazz, world, and folk music in acoustic spaces. Immersive sound technologies were explored as well by capturing music performances in 5.1 surround sound and 3D.

In this particular project, Kevin set up and plotted all the microphone systems. The recording was set up in a church in order to capture the astonishing impulse response and reverberation for surround sound mixing in Dolby Atmos Renderer. The microphone techniques in this audio project included: XY and spot microphones on accordion, XY on violin, XY left on double bass, four twin microphones (hamasaki square), vintage microphones (decca tree).
